Tabarca: a collection to slow down
Posted by Almacén Trendsplant on

The Mediterranean is not just a place, it’s a way of seeing the world . At Trendsplant, every collection begins with that perspective, with that luminous calm that only makes sense when you're barefoot and the sea is nearby. The Tabarca collection is our tribute to that serene energy, a series of garments that doesn’t aim to stand out, but to stay close. Like a nap in the shade on an August afternoon, like the feel of a sun-dried towel, like the silence of the sea when the sun goes down.
An island as a starting point

Tabarca is a small island off the coast of Alicante . At first glance, a strip of land suspended in blue. But anyone who’s been there knows it holds something more, a character that can't be imitated. Stone-paved alleys, low whitewashed houses, laundry dancing in the wind . This collection was born from that setting and the emotions it stirs.
During the design process, we asked ourselves, how do you translate the essence of a place into a garment? How do you capture the breeze that moves across the Mediterranean? How do you turn calm into stitching? The answer was clear, with honest materials , simple forms , and a coherent narrative . Tabarca is not just fashion, it’s a way of life .
A color palette born from the sea

In Tabarca, color is not just an aesthetic decision, it’s an extension of the landscape. The palette for this collection is directly inspired by the real tones of the Mediterranean environment. Each hue was chosen to evoke a specific feeling, a scene from the island, an emotion that settles in naturally.
Deep Teal connects us with the stillness of the sea at dusk, when the waves grow darker and time seems to slow.
Tidepool Blue and Medium Turquoise represent shallow, crystal-clear waters where light dances on the sand, bright but gentle tones that breathe freshness.
Mediterranean Blue is the clear sky at noon, when the heat still feels bearable and everything expands.
Deep Water, more saturated and rich, captures the strength and mystery of the open sea.
Shore Green pays tribute to the vegetation that grows between rocks and salt spray, a soft green that persists against the wind.
And Foam White, the color of seafoam, recalls the moment when the tide meets the land. Light, clean, grounding.
This harmony of tones seeks balance, calm, and authenticity. Nothing artificial, everything tied to the essential. The colors don’t just dress the garments, they build the atmosphere of Tabarca.
Fabrics that breathe
Every piece is made from natural and responsible materials, designed to accompany you with lightness and honesty. Organic cotton is the core fabric in many garments, chosen for its natural feel, its lower environmental impact, and its durability. The T-shirts are light but resilient, meant to be worn daily without losing shape or essence.
And there’s more. The Tabarca collection also includes two shirts made from 100% linen, a fabric that is Mediterranean by nature. Linen breathes, stays fresh, and softens with time. It's ideal for warm days, for effortless dressing, and for preserving the relaxed aesthetic that defines both the collection and the island behind it.
All garments are made in Portugal, in workshops we’ve collaborated with for years, partners who share our values of ethical production and full traceability. We know who cuts, who sews, who presses, and that gives us the peace of mind of offering not just a good product, but a real story behind it.
The island in every name

Many of the names used in this collection’s pieces are no coincidence. They are drawn directly from Tabarca’s history and geography, a way of paying homage to its true identity, still alive in its streets, its stones, and its surnames.
Parodi and Manzanaro are surnames linked to the Genoese families who repopulated the island in the 18th century after being rescued from North Africa. These names, still present in Tabarca today, are a testament to a unique cultural mix between Italy and eastern Spain.
Alcalalí refers to a small inland town in the province of Alicante, symbolically connected to the island through family roots and migratory tradition.
The Cup nods to the Mediterranean’s role as a stage for sailing regattas. Tabarca has long been a stopover and witness to countless races, from traditional boats to modern sails cutting through its waters.
San Gabriel, San Rafael, San Miguel, and San Pablo are the names of the island’s old defensive bastions. Today they remain part of the everyday landscape, silent markers of the island’s strategic past.
Genovese sums up the modern origin of Tabarca, the Genoese settlers who, after centuries of exile, found a new home on this island. Their culture, language, and architecture left a lasting imprint still felt today.
Each of these names opens a window into Tabarca’s story, a way to connect with its soul beyond what’s visible.
More than clothing, an invitation to slow down
Tabarca isn’t just about aesthetics. This collection is a reminder that life moves too fast, that there’s beauty in simplicity, in the everyday, in what doesn’t need to be explained. A more mindful wardrobe starts with garments that have soul, made to last, made to connect with the one who wears them.
Every piece in this collection invites you to slow down, choose intentionally, and reconnect with the present moment. We’re not here to encourage you to buy more, but to buy better.
A meaningful launch

The entire campaign was shot on the island itself. All the photos were taken in real Tabarca locations, without artifice. The models moved as anyone would on a weekend there, barefoot, seeking shade, snacking on fresh fruit. We wanted to capture the natural spirit of the place and the authenticity of the garments.
No excessive retouching, no theatrical staging. Just real light, real skin, real sea. Because what’s real is what lasts.
Conclusion, dressing the Mediterranean
Tabarca is not just a collection, it’s a statement of intent. A way of approaching design, sustainability, and fashion with calm, honesty, and Mediterranean inspiration. These are garments that don’t expire with the season, they’re pieces that tell a story, that feel good from day one and only get better over time.
We invite you to explore the full collection and carry a piece of this unique island with you.
Dress in Tabarca,
