Our sweatshirts are mechanically pre-shrunk (sanforized) without chemical stabilizers, which is safer for your skin and the environment, but it can also make the fabric tighten slightly with washing. However, the level of shrinkage you describe is not expected.

Steam-ironing after washing can often help the fibers relax and recover part of the original fit, but we’d like to take a closer look to help you properly.

There is something that may help: ironing the sweatshirt with steam after washing.

Because our sweatshirts are mechanically pre-shrunk (sanforized) without chemical stabilizers, the cotton fibers remain more natural and can tighten slightly with washing. We avoid chemical treatments intentionally, as part of our commitment to keeping harmful substances away from both your skin and the environment.

Some brands use chemical finishes to completely “lock” the fabric, which is why you may not have experienced this before — but we choose the cleaner option.

The good news is that steam ironing can often relax the fibers again and help the garment recover part of its original measurements. It may not return 100% to the initial size, but you should see a noticeable improvement.
